Heidi Blanchard joins the staff at NW teaching 4th grade. She received her BS from Plattsburgh and is currently working on a Literacy Degree thru Canisius College for her Masters. This is Heidi’s third year teaching the 4th grade. She is married with a daughter Ava who will soon be 4 years old. Mrs. Blanchard loves spending time with family.
Frank DeCrescenzo is currently teaching Accounting, Sports Marketing and Entrepreneurship at NW. He has been teaching for seven years and attended SUNY at Buffalo graduating with a BS in Business Administration and obtained his M.S. in Curriculum and Development at SUNY Plattsburgh. Mr. DeCresenzo also possesses a certificate of advanced study in Educational Leadership. Frank, his wife Adele and two sons Frankie and Giovanni moved to the beautiful Adirondacks 12 years ago. In his spare time he enjoys golfing and coaching his son’s basketball team.
Melissa Montgomery is a new 5th grade teacher and is very excited to return to Chestertown. Her dad is from here and she visited often when she was younger. She is a graduate of LeMoyne College in Syracuse with a major in Psychology and a concentration in Elementary and Special Education grades 1-6. Melissa received her Master’s Degree in Literacy 1-6. Prior to coming to NW she taught in Saratoga Springs and at Stillwater Elementary. When she accepted the job here, it was her first tenure track position. Thanksgiving is her favorite time as it allows for spending time with family. Melissa will be getting married on October 21, 2017.
Chris Nelson is North Warren’s new Technology teacher. He received his BS from Utica college in History and his Master’s from the University of Texas at Arlington in Academic Leadership and Policy Studies. This is his first full time teaching position and he looks forward to his role as the 7th grade basketball coach. He and his wife of four years are the proud parents of 3 year old twin girls. While in college Mr. Nelson’s summer job at Six Flags Great Escape was to dress up as The Flash. It is not surprising that this superhero remains his favorite today.
David Parisi, our new Social Worker received his Master’s Degree from Binghamton University and has spent seven years in education. His hobbies include all sports and games of any kind. Mr. Parisi just welcomed his first child on October 21, 2016
John Remington is excited to be back at NW as our Librarian and we are grateful for his presence. John graduated from SUNY Potsdam. He has been coaching at NW for two years with the 2016-2017 school year being his first full time teaching assignment. Mr. Remington is planning on doing some coaching as well this year thereby providing another avenue for him to connect with North Warren’s young people.
