Broadway's The Lion King has captivated the imagination of audiences around the world and now for the first time ever accredited schools have the opportunity to produce an adaptation of this one-of-a-kind musical. We are beyond fortunate that North Warren is the only school venue in this area where the production can be seen.
One hundred students are involved in this 5th-12th grade production with seventy two being cast members and the remainder contributing to the creation of sets and props. Our middle grades (5-9) will be featured for the lead roles with our “veteran” graduating seniors given the opportunity to perform one final time at North Warren in some of the older roles.
This musical has been a collaboration of many departments which include: Elementary and High School Art classes, the Pre-vocational class, and the Drama Class. This musical journey began last October (including Saturday rehearsals) for High School English Teacher Kim Sabo and Elementary school teacher Maria Swartz (plus a multitude of family members and volunteers)
Check THE SPOTLIGHT tomorrow to see some of the impressive and awe-inspiring costumes!!
